The ES isn’t the most exciting, powerful, or technologically advanced sedan in the segment, but it continues to be a comfort-forward option with a flashy design and impressive safety features. These qualities should carry into the 2023 model. The current ES received a light refresh for the 2022 model year. The overall exterior design should remain the same for 2023. The ES has angular headlights with check-mark daytime running lights, but the sedan’s enormous spindle grille continues to be its main attraction. Design elements at the back are far more subdued, with the ES featuring diamond-shaped taillights, large exhaust outlets, and a modest rear spoiler. Stylish and upscale, the current ES sedan’s interior is equally as luxurious as its rivals. As a carryover model, the 2023 ES will have the same overall interior design as the current sedan that’s on sale. The ES has a sweeping interior design, with a center console that’s split into two sections with infotainment controls sitting above those for the HVAC system. In one of the more interesting design elements, the ES has controls that sit directly above the instrument cluster. While the ES comes with a touchscreen, Lexus continues to offer the ES with a touchpad that’s located to the right of the shift knob. Things aren’t expected to change much for the 2023 ES on the tech front. The sedan should continue to come with an eight-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Bluetooth, 10 audio speakers, and satellite radio as standard equipment. Available features will include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, navigation, a wireless charging pad, and a 17-speaker audio system. Lexus offers the current ES with three different powertrains. These should remain the same for 2023. The standard engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is standard with this powertrain. A 3.5-liter V6 engine is available, producing 302 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque. The V6 is only available with front-wheel drive. The ES Hybrid features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors for a combined output of 215 hp. Every ES comes standard with Lexus’ Safety System+ 2.5 suite that brings pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and traffic sign recognition. Available features include a surround-view parking camera and parking sensors. Lexus ES begins at $42,490 in either ES 250 AWD or ES 350 forms.
When did the Lexus ES 250 come out?Introduced in 1989, the first generation ES 250 was one of two vehicles in Lexus' debut range, along with the LS 400. The second generation ES 300 debuted in 1991, followed by the third generation ES 300 in 1996, and the fourth generation ES 300/330 in 2001.
What year will Lexus ES 350 be redesigned? No matter how you consider it, the Lexus ES represents terrific bang for your buck. After an extensive refresh last year, we believe the 2023 Lexus ES 350 will carry forward relatively unchanged.
What is the difference between ES 250 and ES 350?ES 250 models feature a meek four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive (AWD), while Lexus ES 350 models sport a more powerful V6 engine and front-wheel drive (RWD). An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard across the lineup.
