How long does it take to 100% ff10?

Arsene-Lupin posted...

It's been a long time since I played them on PS2, but IIRC, it's something like:

FFX: 40-50 hours to complete, ~75 hours to 100% (secret summons & sidequests).
FFX-2: 20-25 hours to complete, ~35 hours to 100% (sidequests + dress spheres + true ending).

Far, far longer than that, especially with the International Content.

FFX to complete is around 50-60 hours for basic, but to do everything includes:
- Cactuar sidequest. It's long
- Playing Lightning Dodging, Chocobo Racing, Butterfly Catching etc long enough to get the Celestial Weapons
- Playing Blitzball long enough to get Wakka's weapon and reels.
- Collecting all the Jecht spheres
- Omega ruins
- Chocobo race at the Remiem Temple to get all the prizes
- Catching 10 of every monster in the world with capture weapons
- Unlocking and beating all the Monster Arena enemies.
- Grinding the materials to make your Dark Aeon / Penance / Monster Arena top tier armour.
- Maxing your sphere grid to 255, as you'll never beat the following if you don't.
- Beating all the Dark Aeons
- Beating Penance (without Zanmato!)

I'd say to 100%, you're looking at 140+ hours. At least.

X-2, you can breeze through in 20 hours, but to 100% you need to do the following:
- All side missions in every chapter
- Maximise all dress sphere abilities
- Watch ALL the sphere scenes: this is long, boring, but needed for your 100%
- Get all the dress spheres and garment grids
- Beat the 100 floor dungeon and defeat Trema, with those ultra cheap bosses that can one-shot you.
- Do the Last Mission dungeon - haven't got a clue how long this will be, as it's the only bit of content I haven't played.
- Do Clasko's godawful Chocobo catching quest and the subsequent dungeon

No, it's not as long, but you'll still be looking at 80-100+ hours to 100%

After playing all of the Final Fantasy series in my youth but never actually finishing them I decided to get round to it with FF10.

HD remaster on steam offers a chance to increase the speed for level grinding (or sphere grid grinding to be exact) so i decided to go for 100% playthrough. Although the main game is pretty linear once you get to post game stage of monster hunting/'superbosses' it really opens up a whole new world- ended with about 120 hours.

If anyone is thinking about getting into the series this would be a good start or FF8/9 are good alternatives. For a 15 year old game the cutscenes are breathtaking and the story is surprisingly deep towards the end, well worth a play.

How long does it take to 100% ff10?

If you want a 100% game (not necessarily 100% achievments) on FFX it will take a long time. Easy 80 hours+. that's not including any cheats of course and I mean seeing everything in the game, doing all side quests and killing all optional bosses. Even more for a first time player.

Some of the achievements take a lot longer to get.

FFX-2 is a shorter game all round. My 100% playthrough way back on ps2 took 50 ish hours.

Either way the money/hour value is insanely good as long as you like the game of course, even if you just like FFX which is the case for a lot of people.
