It works after installing it from the remotedesktop.google.com site. However, when the computer is rebooted, the service will fail to start. chrome-remote-desktop.service - LSB: Chrome Remote Desktop service Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/chrome-remote-desktop; generated) Active: active (exited) since Fri 2019-09-13 19:45:51 EDT; 6s ago Docs: man:systemd-sysv-generator(8) Process: 2450 ExecStop=/etc/init.d/chrome-remote-desktop stop (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 2469 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/chrome-remote-desktop start (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Sep 13 19:45:20 nuc chrome-remote-desktop[2469]: Terminating host Sep 13 19:45:20 nuc chrome-remote-desktop[2469]: Failure count for 'X server' is now 0 Sep 13 19:45:20 nuc chrome-remote-desktop[2469]: Failure count for 'host' is now 0 Sep 13 19:45:20 nuc chrome-remote-desktop[2469]: Waiting before relaunching Sep 13 19:45:21 nuc chrome-remote-desktop[2469]: wait() returned (3763,256) Sep 13 19:45:21 nuc chrome-remote-desktop[2469]: Waiting before relaunching Sep 13 19:45:50 nuc chrome-remote-desktop[2469]: Timeout waiting for session to start. It may have crashed, or may still be running in the background. Sep 13 19:45:51 nuc sudo[2480]: pam_unix(sudo:session): session closed for user p Sep 13 19:45:51 nuc chrome-remote-desktop[2469]: ...done. Sep 13 19:45:51 nuc systemd[1]: Started LSB: Chrome Remote Desktop service. The remotedesktop.google.com site says this: Session crashed or failed to start. If ~/.chrome-remote-desktop-session exists on the remote computer, make sure it starts a long-running foreground process such as a desktop environment or window manager. I did not think this was required on the newest version of CRD. However I tried it anyway with this line in that file exec /usr/sbin/xfce4-session "startxfce4" and restarting. Now remotedesktop.google.com shows that it's online and it prompts me for my PIN. However it just hangs indefinitely and does not connect Then I see these errors like these in the CRD's file in the /tmp/ directory 2019-09-13 20:05:24,892:INFO:wait() returned (8347,256) 2019-09-13 20:05:24,893:INFO:Session process terminated 2019-09-13 20:05:24,895:INFO:Failure count for 'session' is now 9 2019-09-13 20:05:24,895:INFO:Terminating X server Gdk-Message: 20:05:24.896: chrome-remote-desktop-host: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :20. 2019-09-13 20:05:24,899:INFO:Terminating host 2019-09-13 20:05:24,913:INFO:Failure count for 'X server' is now 0 2019-09-13 20:05:24,913:INFO:Failure count for 'host' is now 0 2019-09-13 20:05:24,914:INFO:Waiting before relaunching 2019-09-13 20:05:25,915:INFO:wait() returned (8346,256) 2019-09-13 20:05:25,915:INFO:Waiting before relaunching 2019-09-13 20:06:24,783:INFO:Launching X server and X session. 2019-09-13 20:06:24,793:INFO:Starting Xvfb on display :20 xdpyinfo: unable to open display ":20".
