When I was getting some gifts for my family from Estée Lauder, I was given a very generous amount of Transformative Energy Creme and Eye Creme from their most expensive new preminum line Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Collection for trial. Initially, I was quite resistant to try their new products as I've had pretty bad experiences from some of their skincare and make-up products. Although I told the sales assistant a few times that I'm satisfied with my current skincare regime, but her praise on their Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Collection was huge that I ended up surrendering and trying them out :).

In fact, my grandmother used to be a long-time user of their Re-Nutriv for many years, but I don't think she uses them any more as they've had disappeared from her vanity cabinet when I last checked it :3. Haha, yes, that's one of a few things that I've been doing since I was little when I visit my grandmother's :P. Regardless, when I asked her why she doesn't use them anymore, she told me that the product isn't rich enough that they don't keep her skin hydrated effective enough. Well, that was all I knew about the line other than the fact that it's the most prestigious range in Estée Lauder.

Based on my past 10 years or so experience with luxury skincare brands, I've found most products priced above $300 generally bring benefits to skin much faster. Meaning, to see some difference, it can usually be noticed from day 2 or even day 7 at the latest, and it continuously improves skin after at a much subtler degree. Keeping that in mind, here is what I concluded after trying Transformative Energy Creme and Eye Creme for about 2 months.

I haven't been that much fan of their skincare mainly due to the texture on the skin, which has been either too tacky, siliconey or even too superficial. However, Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Transformative Energy Creme is the exception. It's in a dense cream consistency yet spreads beautifully and sinks into skin fast.

It gives an instant glow without any sticky or oily residue. I think that the Transformative Energy Creme might be by far the most neat finish amongst most of the high-end skincare brands, which is quite clever as they can even attract younger users.

Certainly, the texture and the subtle fragrance is a winning deck, but I felt that hydration level and longevity is still quite superficial compared to their competitors. Just to mention a few, it's nowhere as hydrating as La Mer's Creme de La Mer/The Moisturizing Soft Cream and even La Prairie's Anti-Aging Collection/Skin Caviar Collection. I actually feel that Chantecaille Flower Harmonizing Cream is way more deeply hydrating than the Transformative Energy Creme although it costs less than a third of the Transformative Energy Creme's price.

At around 14°C to 19°C, my dehydrated normal skin felt very soft and smooth on the surface yet very uncomfortably tight inside upon waking up. I wouldn't recommend the cream for those with dry/dehydrated skin and/or living in a cold/dry climate unless you layer something underneath or over such as serums and face oils. Having said that, it's indeed a great anti-aging product for normal to oilier skin and/or for people living in a warmer climate as my pores seemed quite refined and my skin looked brighter and plumped. It didn't bring any dramatic results, but it seemed to work pretty good. However, I wouldn't say that it's best for lifting if that's your main concern.

Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Transformative Energy Eye Creme

I really love the fact that Transformative Energy Eye Creme has such beautiful tiny pearly particles in it, which very subtly illuminates around the eye area. It didn't irritate my eyes and even the scent wasn't very noticeable.

It spreads very finely such that you don't even need to worry about the texture of the concealer or foundation that you put on next.

Just like their cream, the eye cream isn't very rich or heavy at all. Rather it's quite fast-absorbing, which is very convenient as I often do my make-up shortly after applying my moisturisers. Even better, it doesn't seem to smear my make-up personally, so I've enjoyed using the eye cream during the day time especially in summer. However, it's a shame that I didn't really see much improvement other than such convenience even after using almost the whole thing... Sadly, the eye cream feels pretty basic to me, possibly because I've used and tried different eye creams from other high-end brands that tend to feel much more hydrating and correcting. Although Transformative Energy Eye Creme didn't meet my needs in terms of the result, I think that it will work great if you don't have dehydration/dryness around the eye area. It will be fine for maintenance, but if you have mature skin, then you might want to look for something more powerful.
