Đánh dấu đã đọc Inasmuch as I take care of the skin on my face, I admit I neglect the skin on my body. I made a vow to make more of an effort to take care of the skin on my body. Skin is skin, right? I try to make applying lotion a regular thing, and of course, SPF protection is crucial. So I tried to hit two birds with one stone by using a body lotion with SPF. Unfortunately, that’s been a struggle for me. Somehow, all the body lotions in this country that contain SPF are also whitening and contain some form or derivative of glutathione to whiten the skin. I am a proud morena, so no way am I touching those things, not even with a ten-foot pole. Why is it so difficult to find SPF protection around here??? I just want to be protected from the sun, I don’t want to lighten my skin! Enter this product from Biore: the UV Anti-Pollution Body Care Serum. Biore has been my holy grail sunscreen for my face since about four years ago, so I instantly gravitated towards this body lotion. The UV Anti-Pollution Body Care Serum comes in two variants – Extra Moist (in blue packaging) and Intensive White (in pink packaging). After going through that mini rant over there about not wanting to lighten my skin, guess what variant I picked out? 😝 Claiming to be extra moisturizing, water resistant, non-sticky and SPF 50 PA+++ protection, this was gold! Bonus points for not coming at a price that breaks the bank – the tube containing 150mL costs Php 399 (or about US$ 7-8). The pros, however, were more of a fantasy than a reality for me. The lotion itself was white and creamy. It had a sunblock-y scent, which I wasn’t a fan of but I could live with. My first problem with the product was that it was quite difficult to blend into the skin. I feel like I really had to work the product into my skin to really blend it in, or else I’d have patches or swirls of white stuff on my arms and legs. Speaking of patches of white, this lotion also left a bit of a white cast on my skin. You know how sunblock meant for the beach like Beach Hut or Hawaiian Tropic leaves the skin with a bit of a white or greyish tone? This Biore Body Care Serum leaves a similar effect on the skin. It’s not too noticeable, and it fades after some time, but it’s still there. Good thing for me is that I apply my body lotion first then my makeup next, so the white cast has usually disappeared before I go out into the world. Finally, for something that claims to be “extra moist”, I feel like this Body Care Serum didn’t moisturize my dry skin (on my body, at least) too well. I’ve tried body lotions that would leave my skin feeling soft and baby smooth for at least another day, but with this one, my skin feels dry and itchy by the end of a 12-hour workday. In a nutshell, I was disappointed in this product. I honestly expected more from Biore, which makes the best sunscreens for the face, in my opinion. I truly hope that they reformulate this. I think it has great potential, but there are just some kinks to work out. In the meantime, I’m on the fence about repurchasing this. On the one hand, there’s all these thing I didn’t really enjoy about it, but on the other hand, there aren’t really a lot of options. I’ve only tried this Biore Body Care Serum and the Nivea Body Serum, the only two products I’ve found that have SPF protection sans the whitening claims, and the Biore has twice the SPF that the Nivea contains. So I guess I’m stuck with this – until a new one comes along, at least. ☹️ Have you tried the Biore Body Care Serum? How did you like it? Or, maybe you have some sunscreen recommendations for the body? My only qualifications are (1) no white cast, (2) no sunblock/beach smell, and (3) moisturizes dry skin. The Biore UV Aqua Rich Lotion has got to be one of my favourite sunscreens and the UV Watery Essence is also very good for summer time or when my skin is slightly oilier. The Aqua Rich Lotion is more moisturising on the skin and you can feel it. Both of these sunscreens do not leave a white cast on me at all.
