Khi nói về khoảng thời gian trong tiếng Anh thường dùng từ for ở đằng trước, ví dụ như: I lived in Canada for six months mình sống ở Canada sáu tháng I\'ve worked here for nine years mình đã làm việc ở đây được chín năm I\'m going to France tomorrow for two weeks ngày mai mình sẽ đi Pháp hai tuần we were swimming for a long time bọn mình đã bơi rất lâu
Frequency - Tần suất never không bao giờ rarely hiếm khi occasionally thỉnh thoảng sometimes thỉnh thoảng often or frequently thường xuyên usually or normally thường xuyên always luôn luôn every day or daily hàng ngày every week or weekly hàng tuần every month or monthly hàng tháng every year or yearly hàng năm

Ví dụ:
- I worked and then went shopping. Later on I met some friends for pizza. Tôi làm việc và rồi đi mua sắm. Rồi sau đó tôi đã cùng mấy người bạn đi ăn pizza.
- At that moment / Suddenly, I heard the door slam. Lúc đó/ Bỗng dưng tôi nghe cửa đóng sầm.
- Meanwhile / At the same time / Simultaneously my phone started to ring. Ngay lúc ấy, điện thoại của tôi bắt đầu đổ chuông.
