How to stop YouTube videos from playing while scrolling pc

This guide will show you how to stop the YouTube App from Auto playing and stop videos playing in the background. So if that what you wanted to learn how to do then this is the correct article.

Quick Note

Do note that the feature that allows videos on the Home screen to Play is a preview feature that was implemented by YouTube. There is no way as far as I know as how to turn this feature off with a setting withing the app.

There is a workaround though that I have found that stops the videos auto playing. Which is found below.

How to Stop YouTube Videos auto playing on the Home screen?

To stop Videos auto playing on the Home screen of the YouTube App for Android or iPhone:

1.When you are on the Home screen simply click on any Video or one that you like and pause it.

2.Now go back to the Home screen by hitting the back button.

3.Notice now there is a small player at the bottom of the screen. Nice as you scroll through the Home feed that the video auto play on the Home screen is now off.

As long as you have a video Paused in the background as you scroll auto play or preview will not work on the YouTube app Home Screen.

Pro Tip:

As a habit and to make things easier pause the last video you are watching before going back to the home screen and as you scroll the videos will not preview on the home screen.
