Use a SIM card to access the network
To insert the SIM card to the laptop
- Before you power on the laptop, use an eject pin to open the SIM card tray, then put the nano-SIM card into the tray. If you are not using a local nano-SIM card, you need to enable the International roaming service before using the SIM card to access the Internet.
- After you have inserted the SIM card, power on the laptop. Once the is displayed in the bottom-right corner on the taskbar, it indicates that your laptop is now using the network provided by your SIM card carrier.
- For certain apps or programs, you need to click Yes in the pop-up window when they are opened for the first time in order to access the network. For example, when you open Microsoft Edge for the first time, you need to click Yes in the pop-up window in order to browse the Internet.
This pop-up window will only display the first time you open the app.
- By selecting NO in the pop-up window, you have disabled the mobile data usage permission for these apps, and you will be unable to use the SIM card to access the network when using these apps. To enable the mobile usage permission for these apps, perform the following:
1]. Click the Windows icon and then the Settings icon, and select Network & Internet.
2] Click Cellular and then Choose apps that can use your cellular data.
3] Set the switch next to the corresponding apps to On if preferred. It is recommended that you set all switches to On if you want to use the SIM card to access the network.
