Đề thi môn tiếng Anh tuyển sinh lớp 10 năm nay tại TP.HCM có thời gian làm bài được tăng lên 90 phút, thay vì 60 phút như năm 2020. Thí sinh Võ Thị Thùy Dương, học sinh Trường THCS-THPT Lương Thế Vinh (Q.1), nhận xét đề thi vừa sức và đã được giáo viên ôn luyện trong thời gian vừa qua. Bên cạnh đó, thí sinh này cho hay cấu trúc ngữ pháp trong các câu hỏi không gây khó. Còn từ vựng cũng không có nhiều từ mới và nằm trong những chủ đề đã học. Thạc sĩ Đặng Thanh Huân, giáo viên trường THPT Nguyễn Hữu Thọ, Q.4, nhận xét: "Ngoài phần Ngữ âm (câu 1 đến 4) mới được đưa vào trong năm nay, nhìn chung đề thi năm nay có cấu trúc tương tự như các năm trước gần đây. Vì có thêm phần nội dung mới nên số lượng câu hỏi tăng lên 40 câu và thời gian làm bài tăng lên 90 phút". "Dù tình hình Covid và học sinh trở lại trường học trực tiếp hơi muộn, nhưng đề thi năm nay vừa sức với các em. Đề thi có sự phân hóa khá tốt. Các em học sinh trung bình và trung bình khá hầu như không làm được phần Word form (câu 29 đến 34) và phần Viết lại câu (câu 36 đến 40). Dù đề thi không có bẫy hay thách đố, nhưng cũng sẽ không có cơn mưa điểm 10 và phổ điểm được dự đoán tập trung vào điểm 5", ông Huân cho biết thêm.

Báo Thanh Niên sẽ sớm đăng tải hướng dẫn giải đề thi môn tiếng Anh. Ông Lê Hoài Nam, Phó Giám đốc Sở GD-ĐT TP.HCM, cho biết ở buổi chiều, thi môn ngoại ngữ, có 3 thí sinh vắng mặt. Còn trong buổi sáng thi môn ngữ văn có 652 thí sinh vắng mặt và 3 thí sinh bị đình chỉ thi do sử dụng tài liệu.
