Charging light blinking on hp laptop

Good day everyone, I am having this issue with my laptop [ HP ProBook], I can't remember/ see the model number anymore. When I plugged in the charger, there is a white blinking light coming from the charging port. - I did replace the battery but there's still can't fix the problem. - I did replace the charger with another charger but still can't solve.

any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this problem??

if you still have the physical manual [ you find one online too], there should be troubleshooting section or if still under warranty contact HP.

Try this: 1. Power off laptop 2. Unplug AC adapter and Disconnect battery [if it has a removable battery] 3. Hold power button for 15 seconds 4. Re-plug Battery and AC adapter 5. Power up PC Hopefully, your light should be amber.

Goodluck.

tried these steps but still can't fix this issue. with the blinking light from the powerport, my laptop cannot even power-on.

A common problem with HP laptops is a faulty power jack on them.
Hopefully yours is the plug in type as they are easier to change and don't require soldering skills.

Hp laptop Blinking amber AC adapter/Battery light to quote HP

● “Blinking Amber: Indicates a battery that is the only available power source has reached a low battery level. When the battery reaches a critical battery level, the battery light begins blinking rapidly.

Amber: The computer is connected to external power/charger and the battery is charged from 0 to 90 percent.

White: The computer is connected to external power supply/charger and the battery is charged from 90 to 99 percent.”

Simple to test. Take out battery and just plug in charger. Any lights? Does laptop turn on? No? Then replace charger.

Either try your cord in another device, or try another devices cord in your laptop. You may also want to try charging it when the device is off, rather than on. If it works then, the cord is probably the issue. Should that not be the problem, then check the battery to see if it needs replacing.

How to fix a HP laptop that does not turn on but instead blinks [flashes] an amber orange light

I have hp 15s series laptop. I was changing the display and the cable was attached upside down and since then whenever I try to start the laptop the white light keeps on blinking. There is no fan movement no display. I tried removing the battery but the problem persists.

I do appreciate your very detailed post with included images.  It is not, however, applicable to my HP Envy dv6 x360 Convertible because the battery in my notebook is not removable. I did attempt the other steps such as deleting the battery drivers but to no avail. For about three months, my battery was "plugged in, not charging" but remained at 66%. Over the past three weeks, the charge - all while still showing "plugged in, not charging" - has steadily declined first to 17%, then 11%, and for the past 10 days it fluctuates from 7% to 8% to 9% and goes back and forth between those numbers.  And although I have my Power Options set for my computer to shut down at 10%, it has failed to shut down at any point.  I can power down and the computer and it will power back on.  I can do a hard reset, I believe that is what it is called, and press F2 and run the diagnostics on my battery. All tests [and I ran all the diagnostic tests, not just on the battery] came backloading that everything was within normal operating parameters [my phrasing].

Is there any other method that might be available to those that own HP Notebook with batteries that cannot be removed? Any help you can provide, or if you can point me in the right direction, would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks. Philip

Hello there,

yesterday the Spectre x360 of my partner died down, after having issues with the battery noit being able to go through a day really long.

It started into a Boot-window, after restarting into windows it crashed down - display just going black.

The loading-LED was also dead: trying the AC did nothing most of the time. after about half an hoourit shortly went red, so we tried letting it load over night just to arrive at a white blinking LED. It still did not start, after oince again unplugging it the LED is now dead permanently.

I tried the way described by you, also with unplugging the battery [handyman :D], still no results.

But what was interesting: one of the resistors seems to be burned through, please see the Pictures below:
